After a long tough day of class, we all like a little escapism maybe online with the dozens of streaming services, but have you ever stopped to consider the strings attached? We all use services like streaming platforms every day, so many that we don't keep track. With the details of the Disney+ lawsuit coming out, who is to say we aren't signing away our rights to these corporations?
With the details of the lawsuit, it is possible that if anyone corporation is in the wrong and causes damages to us, we may discover that we cannot bring legal action against them because we gave away our rights to legal recourse by checking a simple popup box for a term of service.
Some of the concerns around these terms of service agreements are that they may be in place for indefinitely (or forever) and may prevent you from actually suing the company at all even for unrelated products. and force arbitration.
